DesignerMim by Miriam is an independent creative studio based in Cape Town, South Africa. Miriam Haynes-Janari is the sole owner and creator of this site and all the imagery herein. Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

 

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

 

Media

If you upload images to the website or via email, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. 

 

Contact & briefing forms

If you submit our contact or briefing forms we will collect your full name and email address for the sole purposes of fulfilling your query. We will not distribute your information to a third party. You can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. 

The purpose of our forms is to ensure we receive the necessary information from potential client or collaboration. The information you provide will enable us to respond timeously to your enquiry. The data will be stored in an access-controlled folder on the designer’s hard drive and encrypted external hard drive. Your dataset will not be made available to any 3rd party without your consent. You are under no obligation to consent to this, and there will be no adverse effect or retaliation if you choose not to. 

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

You choose whether or not we may collect any analytics data via the opt-in or opt-out of cookies when you visit our website. Our web host collects some anonymous data. We collect your internet usage when you visit this website. We may use any of your personal information that you provide to us for the purposes that you indicated when you agreed to provide it to us. We may share your personal information with third parties for the purpose of fulfilling our obligations to you. How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
